BATHROOM ACCESSORIES OFTEN RUST, WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?

Bathroom cleanliness must be maintained for the health and comfort of family members. This is done because the bathroom is a place that is frequently used and has high humidity compared to other rooms. By keeping it clean, this will help prevent the growth of bacteria, fungus and germs which have an impact on health.

Apart from dampness, a problem that often occurs in bathrooms is the appearance of rust stains on bathroom accessories. Starting from soap and shampoo containers, towel rails, water taps, and the like. Rust will certainly make the bathroom unsightly.

In general, rust is caused by a reaction between oxygen and water which then forms iron oxide or rust. This reaction occurs when water vapor comes into contact with metal. The risk of rust appearing on bathroom accessories can also occur if there is a leak. One of them is the water tap and accessory bolts. If not treated immediately, rust will disrupt the function of the bathroom accessories.

An effective way to prevent rust on bathroom accessories is to use quality basic materials, such as brass, SUS 304 stainless steel, or ABS. Both materials are proven to be rust and corrosion resistant so they can be used for a long time. Avoid using accessories that use babet as the base material because it will corrode more easily.

Apart from quality materials, you need to clean and dry bathroom accessories regularly. If the bathroom accessories are made from brass or stainless steel, clean them with a special chrome cleaner. Use a soft cloth and rub in one direction so as not to leave scratches or scratches. Meanwhile, if the base material is ABS, just use a soft cloth and liquid soap to clean it. Then, rinse and dry until there are no more soap or cleaning fluid residues attached.

After cleaning and drying, don't forget to check the bolts on the bathroom accessories, especially if they are hung on the bathroom wall. Make sure the bolts are not rusty. If something is loose, immediately tighten it and replace the rusted bolt with a new bolt.
