Representative of the Association of Indonesian Architects in Banten (IAI Banten), Billian P. Oktora, said that this futuristic design concept varies, depending on the needs of the user and the design made by the architect.
"Depending on how the architect and the user (users). In my opinion, it's just how we collect, continue to mix, and make a design work that is not the architect who enjoys, but the user also enjoys," said Billian during a talkshow entitled Futuristic Design For Good Living at Okabe Gallery, Saturday (24/6) .
Architect Riri Jacob added, futuristic design is not just a 'weird' design, but must be integrated from all sides of the product, materials, technology, and its impact on the environment. This is because future design concepts will look more abstract, however, they still answer future needs.
"(Futuristic) is not just a strange design, in my opinion it is not futuristic, it (futuristic) must be integrated from all sides of the product, materials, and everything that is completely automatic, right," said Riri.
This means, when talking about problems in the future, it will not only be increasingly sophisticated technological developments, but also our concern for the environment, such as concern for water pollution and environmental degradation.
"Ironically, today's development is in line with environmental degradation, the quality of life, the quality of our earth is getting more and more polluted," added Riri.
To overcome this, we need to live a balanced life by selectively choosing several products and materials. Changes and lifestyle movements that are getting faster also require us to use technology that is solutive, practical and easy to apply. GB friends agree, don't you?
One thing to consider is using smart home technology. For example, using LED lights that can adjust the light level, using smart toilets and automatic water taps in the bathroom, to smart lock doors that use a touch screen system.
