Not all water sources found can be consumed immediately. The water needs to be boiled beforehand to kill germs, bacteria, oil, and other chemicals so that it is suitable for consumption. This is because consuming contaminated water can increase the risk of health problems, two of which are indigestion and poisoning.
However, boiling water alone is not enough to remove the contaminants contained in it. Boiling water can only kill germs and bacteria, not remove sand, gravel, or oil. For that, you need to filter the water first using the filter on the water tap.
As the name implies, a water tap filter is a device for filtering water that is attached to the end of the faucet head. This tool can filter sand, rock, chlorine, oil, and other contaminants. This filter can be installed on almost all water taps in the house, such as wastafel, bathrooms, and sinks.
GB Sanitaryware Supervisor (SPV), Sheila, said that both groundwater and tap water sometimes have silt or sand deposits that make them dirty. Even in some cases, moss or gravel that gets into the cartridge can prevent water from flowing.
"When moss or stones get into the cartridge, it can cause water to come out small or not optimally, so what you do is have to disassemble everything and clean it," explained Sheila.
Sheila added, we need to be careful to distinguish between dirt caused by sediment or due to sunlight and weather changes. If the water becomes cloudy due to sunlight and weather changes, it cannot be cleaned using a water tap filter.
"Well, for the color of this water (due to sunlight and weather changes) it cannot be filtered because this filter is for tap water, different from water filters in general," said Sheila.
Before installing the water faucet, make sure the water tank has been drained clean first to remove sand, gravel, or clean the moss deposits stuck in it.
You also need to choose a water tap filter that is the right size. If it is not compatible, the water faucet will easily leak and the filter will come off.
