Having a bathroom that is free of odors and insects may be the dream of many people. Even though the bathroom is routinely cleaned and given room freshener, it is possible that an unpleasant odor can still be smelled or is difficult to get rid of. In fact, some insects and small animals often appear on the surface of the bathroom.
Various factors can be the trigger. For example, excessive humidity in the bathroom due to lack of ventilation that supports air exchange.
Inappropriate selection of bathroom drains or floor drains is also the most common cause. Choosing the right floor drain is not an easy thing because there are various types of bathroom floor drains found on the market. For that, we need to be smart and thorough in choosing the drainage channel.
GB Sanitaryware Supervisor (SPV), Sheilla, revealed that there are two things to consider when choosing a bathroom floor drain, namely fashion and function. From a fashion standpoint, there is a floor drain where the lid can be filled with ceramic or similar granite to add to the aesthetic impression of the bathroom.
“There are two things that need attention, the first is fashion and the second is function. From the fashion on the lid, you can mix and match or fill it with ceramic or granite of the same type as the side," said Sheilla.
While in terms of function, the floor drain used must answer bathroom problems in general, such as smelling, damp, or having insects and other small animals.
"From a function standpoint, this (floor drain) must answer bathroom problems in general," added Sheilla.
Sheilla also recommends choosing a bathroom floor drain that uses magnetic technology to prevent bad odors, hair loss and small animals from rising to the surface of the bathroom. Because, the way the floor drain works is only open when there is a flow of water and closed again when it is dry. Then, choose a floor drain made from brass, stainless or ABS because it is not easy to rust and corrode.
"For example, it's odor-resistant because there's magnetic technology that keeps pipes from going up, animals and so on, so can hair too," added Sheilla.
GB Sanitaryware has three forms of bathroom floor drain that can be used as an option to help solve common bathroom problems. There are round, square and rectangular shapes. The sizes also vary, ranging from 10 cm, 10 x 10 cm, 10 x 15 cm, 20 x 20 cm, and 10 x 60 cm. For further information, visit the GB Sanitaryware website or Instagram @gbsanitary1.
