5 Advantages of Dry Bathrooms

10 October 2020

Bathrooms in Indonesia are generally the type of wet bathroom, especially those that are still traditional using a bathtub and squat toilet. A wet bathroom is also synonymous with muddy and humid conditions due to frequent splashes of water. Along with the times, the bathroom is now made "as dry" as possible using a dry floor.

The dry bathroom places the shower or bathtub in its own area or it is called a wet area where the splashes of water only wet the area. In a dry bathroom, there is a dividing partition in the form of a curtain, glass partition, or wall. Dry areas are generally filled with utensils such as squat toilets and sinks.

If you are building or renovating a house, a dry bathroom can be a consideration because it has several advantages such as:

  1. Healthier
As is well known, wet bathrooms tend to be damp and become fertile ground for bacteria, fungi, and viral diseases to grow. This condition will get worse if the drainage and ventilation are poor so that the air becomes unhealthy. Dry bathrooms certainly don't have this problem as wet areas are limited so germs and bacteria don't develop quickly.

  2. Broader
Although there is no specific reference, dry bathrooms generally have a wider and larger space than traditional wet bathrooms. This is because a dry bathroom requires a dividing partition between wet and dry areas.

The area in the bathroom is also seen based on the needs and activities of the residents of the house. For example, a wet area containing a shower, this area certainly has a smaller space than dry areas.

  3. More water efficient
If your dry bathroom uses a shower, surely water consumption will be more efficient. In comparison, a wet bathroom that uses a bath and a dipper consumes about 18 liters of water per shower, while using a shower only consumes about 12 liters of water per bath. Very thrifty, right?

Technological advances are also very helpful where sanitary equipment such as showers are now equipped with water-saving features so that water consumption is much less. The same applies to the flush feature on the toilets and jet washers which can save water for one toilet.

  4. Easier to maintain
One of the advantages of dry-type bathrooms is that they are easy to maintain. To clean it, just brush the wet area, while the dry area is enough to sweep, mop, and wipe again to dry. In addition, dry bathrooms rarely experience problems such as leaking or clogging because there is rarely a long-standing puddle in the room.

  5. More flexible
What is meant by flexible is a dry bathroom that has the potential to be decorated and arranged to make it appear more elegant and attractive. Because of dividing the two areas, dry areas can be touched and sweetened such as carpets, wide soft mats, or hangers filled with ornamental plants.

You can also add mirrors, bookshelves, and even make it as a dressing table. Of course, this is very possible because dry areas don't need to be afraid of damp or splashing water because there are already boundaries.

A dry bathroom does have many advantages. With qualified sanitary furniture, of course, the efficiency of water use or bathroom maintenance will be easier. If you are confused about placing any furniture for your dry bathroom, Germany Brilliant has a variety of products such as showers, toilets, floor drains, sinks, urinoir, jet washer to water taps to beautify wet and dry areas in the bathroom.
