Be careful of slipping, these are tips for choosing a bathroom mat

02 June 2023

Choosing a bathroom mat should not be underestimated. If the material used is not right, it can make people slip or fall because it is slippery. Not only leaving bruises, the worst thing that can happen is damage to the coccyx.

Bathroom mats are usually placed in two places, namely next to the bathtub, shower or in front of the bathroom door. Because these two places are prone to falls, GB friends need to be careful and consider the following things.

  1. Materials used

Before deciding to buy a bathroom mat, make sure the materials used are appropriate and can protect against the risk of slipping. So, choose a material that is non-slip and easily absorbs water.

The recommended material is cotton. Besides being soft, this material can absorb water well. However, cotton bath mats get dirty easily, so GB friends need to clean them regularly.

If GB friends don't want to bother cleaning it, choose a bath mat made of diatomite. The texture of this material is rather hard because it is made from sedimentary rock. Even so, there is no need to doubt the absorption of diatomite mats. In fact, GB friends don't need to take extra care to clean it. Just brushing the top, your bath mat looks clean again.

Another option is a vinyl mat. Because it cannot absorb water, this type of mat should be installed near the bathtub or shower.

  2. Adjust the size of the bathroom
Bath mats come in various sizes. Avoid using mats that are too large. Instead of protecting against the risk of falling, a mat that is too big can actually interfere with activities in the bathroom. So, choose the size that fits your bathroom, OK?

  3. Selected motives
Mats can add an aesthetic impression to the bathroom. To make it look beautiful and neat, make sure GB friends choose a bathroom mat motif that matches the bathroom concept. GB friends can also choose a mat color that tends to be dark so it doesn't look dirty easily.
