FOLLOW THESE TIPS TO KEEP YOUR WATER FAUCET LASTING

01 April 2024

Every day we use the water tap to carry out various activities, such as washing hands, cleaning kitchen utensils, rinsing ourselves, and watering plants. That is why water taps are included in the category of household equipment that plays an important role.

Water taps come in various variations. Starting from garden taps, kitchen taps, bathroom taps, sink taps, branch taps, and stop taps. The use of water taps can also be designed with two different water modes, namely cold water and hot and cold water.

Because it is used quite often, it is not surprising that scale, stains and even mechanical problems appear on the water tap. If left alone, the water tap will not function optimally and could interfere with your daily activities.

Caring for a water tap is actually not difficult, but it needs to be done painstakingly and regularly for maximum results. How to? The following is the explanation.

1. Clean the outer surface using a special cleaning fluid

Apart from the type, the basic materials of water taps also vary. Starting from ABS, stainless steel, and brass. If the water tap used is ABS-based, you only need to clean the outer surface using soap to remove water scale or sticky stains. Meanwhile, if the water tap is made of stainless steel or brass, use chrome cleaning fluid by smearing it on the surface of the tap. If the liquid sticks, rinse using clean water and wipe with a soft, dry cloth.

2. Check the condition of the tap stop and flexible hose

The main thing that needs to be done is to stop the flow of water at the tap stop so that the water does not drip. Then, remove the flexible hose from the tap stop to find out whether there are any blockages that are interfering with the flow of water, such as moss, dirt, or small pebbles. If there is no blockage, but the water flow is still small, you need to open the tap cartridge to find out whether there is a blockage in that place.

After cleaning, reattach the flexible hose to the tap stop. Don't forget to clean the outer surface of the tap stop and flexible hose because there may be a lot of tap water or stains stuck to it. Make sure the flexible hose is installed properly to prevent leaks.

3. Make sure the faucet button is not loose

The last thing you need to pay attention to is the condition of the water tap button. If the tap button is loose, immediately tighten it again. This can affect the flow of water that comes out. Also check the tap water filter whether there is a blockage or not. If the water flow is not very strong, pierce the water filter using a toothpick so that the water flow returns to normal.

Hopefully these tips help, yes! Good luck.
