HOME SANITATION IS NOT FUNCTIONING MAXIMUMLY, HERE'S HOW TO OVERCOME IT

29 July 2024

Designing a residential building or house must be adapted to the concept and needs of its users. When a house has been designed in such a way, sometimes various problems are only realized later, including the sanitary equipment used.

Just like other interior elements, sanitary equipment is not free from various problems and obstacles. This is normal because family members often use sanitary equipment, such as water taps, sinks, toilets, showers, and so on. Click the link below you will find out some of the problems that often occur with home sanitation equipment!

If there are problems with sanitation, it should be checked and repaired immediately. If left for too long, it will not function optimally, thus hampering family members' activities at home. Then, how to solve it?

1. If there is an unpleasant smell

This problem usually occurs in the bathroom. The causes are varied, they can come from floor drains, sinks, and toilets. If the smell comes from the floor drain, there could be a large pile of dirt blocking the drain so that the smell rises to the surface of the bathroom. To prevent this from happening, you need to regularly clean the bathroom floor drain. Make sure there is no dirt, rubbish, or loose hair flowing into the water channel.

Bad odors in the bathroom can also be caused by improper installation of the rubber seal on the toilet. Make sure the size used is appropriate and installed firmly. Alternatively, you need to clean the toilet regularly using a special cleaning fluid with a customizable aroma.

2. If the drainage channel is not smooth

If the water flow is blocked or not smooth, it will certainly disrupt activities in the bathroom. This problem usually occurs in toilets, floor drains, sinks or kitchen sinks, and even bathtubs. If the blockage comes from a clump of loose hair, you can clear it by hand. Also, clean any dirt or mineral deposits that stick to the water filter so that it doesn't trigger mold growth.

3. If the water flow is small

Sometimes the water flow in the house is erratic. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow. This is usually caused by several things, such as a buildup of dirt in the water pipe and the position of the water tank not being high enough.

If this problem is not handled quickly and precisely, over time the flow of water will become slower and blockages will occur. The first step that can be taken is to open the water tap filter and check whether there is dirt that is blocking the flow of water. If it has been cleaned but the water flow is still slow, you need to contact a building technician to handle it. It could be that there is an error in the position of the water tower or a blockage in the water pipe.

4. If the sanitary measures are not suitable

Some people may have experienced the wrong choice of sanitary equipment.

Sizes that are too large or too small will affect and cause discomfort to the occupants of the house.

For this reason, before buying sanitary ware, first measure the location where it will be used. Starting from the function, size, model, and comfort of the sanitary itself. Don't hesitate to try sanitary first before buying it. For example, sit on the toilet and feel whether the toilet is comfortable enough. Likewise, with kitchen sinks and sinks, try to imagine that you are using them and feel whether the depth and width of the sink is appropriate or not.

5. If the pipeline is not suitable

Each pipe channel has various specifications and sizes so it must be adjusted to the hole. If the pipe is not installed properly, it will cause a leak. Therefore, make sure the size of the pipe you choose meets the required specifications and is installed properly, and choose the simplest pipe shape possible and avoid shapes that have too many curves.
