01 January 2021

The rainy season is synonymous with wet, humid and watery weather. The beginning of the year also becomes the peak where the rainfall is at its highest. Usually, we have an annual "guest" which we call a "flood". But not only floods come to the house, worms usually come too.

Environmental conditions and bathrooms in Indonesia are humid and watery due to frequent rains which become places for worms to nest and breed. A wet bathroom is also a route for worms to enter through tiles or drains. If not alert, these worms can carry disease and have a negative impact on health.

How do you get rid of worms in the bathroom around the house from the roots? Come on, get to know the ins and outs first.

Cause worms enter the bathroom

Before getting rid of worms, first, identify what causes worms to get into bathrooms and drains. The red worms that usually appear in the bathroom are carried away by the flow of water under the house. If the house uses groundwater flow or untreated boreholes, then you will likely experience this problem.

Not only the type of water but a poor home drainage system can also cause worms to infiltrate a damp bathroom. Especially if the tiled floors are not closed perfectly. That's why it is very important to take care of every flow pathway in and out of the water to minimize the appearance of worms in the house.

How to get rid of worms in the bathroom

Getting rid of worms in the shower is not enough to fling them down the drain using water. Because they can just return to the bathroom through the gaps. Therefore, it is advisable to use a special liquid that can kill worms.

Cleaning the bathroom with carbolic acid or detergent regularly has been shown to help eradicate worm growth in the bathroom. If using a chemical cleaning fluid, just pour it into between the open tile floors. You can also pour the liquid directly over the worm's body when you find it.

If you don't like chemical-based cleaners, a mixture of natural ingredients that you can mix yourself can be an alternative solution.

To get rid of worms in the bathroom with natural ingredients, use the following methods:

1. Prepare a mixture of salt solution with a ratio of 500 grams of salt: 5 liters of soapy water

2. Shake the mixture until combined

3. After everything is evenly mixed, pour the water on the walls and floor of the bathroom.

4. After that, brush the bathroom evenly and then flush again with clean water.

Worms are guaranteed not to come back into the house again if this method is done regularly. This mixture itself is also effective for luring worms out of hiding and also dying immediately if they are still in the channel.

How to prevent worms from coming back

In addition to getting rid of worms in bathrooms and drains, it is better to prevent worms from getting back in. You do this by simply refilling between the perforated ceramic floors.

Maintenance and repair of hollow bathroom walls and floors is a very important preventive measure so that worms don't come back. Moreover, worms can enter from cracks in small holes in bathroom walls and floors. This combination of preventive and corrective measures is guaranteed to be an effective and efficient way to get rid of worms.

Hopefully, this method of getting rid of worms in showers and drains can be of use. If you are looking for a floor drain that is insect and worm repellent, just choose a floor drain from Germany Brilliant, which can prevent worms from entering the bathroom.

Don't get the wrong choice. It must be GB.
