IMPLEMENT A MINIMALIST LIFESTYLE, THIS IS HOW!

05 August 2023

The minimalist lifestyle has become a trend in recent years, especially for the millennial generation. The true meaning of 'minimalism' refers to the aesthetic concept of arranging a room. However, this principle can be applied in aspects of everyday life, you know!

Living the principle of minimalist life can reduce everything that is superfluous. Because, this lifestyle invites us to separate things that are not needed or replaced with something more useful. Don't you agree?

But, you know, implementing a minimalist lifestyle is not an easy thing to do. It takes a strong desire and purpose in order to continue to be committed to living it.

So, if you want to adopt a minimalist lifestyle, here are some basic things that need to be done.

1. Determine the goal

The important thing that needs to be done before implementing a minimalist lifestyle is knowing the goal. Is it because you want to save money, have lots of time with family members, or because of other things that are meaningful to yourself.

Knowing the goal of this minimalist lifestyle is important. Because GB friends can have a more meaningful life and have good goals.

2. Sort unused items

One way to implement a minimalist life is to reduce things gradually. To make it easier, you can do it one by one every week and start from your own room. The reason is, the first room cleaned will be a benchmark for other rooms.

3. Focus on one area in the room

When tidying up a room, like one of them, prioritize the areas that are used frequently. For example, a dressing table. Immediately separate items into three categories, such as items to throw away, store, and give away. After finishing tidying up the dresser, you can move on to another area.

4. Store the necessary items

When sorting out items to keep, throw away, and give to others, of course we will feel confused. There must be a reason that makes us end up saving these items even though they are not really needed.

That's normal, really. Just ask yourself, is this item meaningful and profitable in the house? Or, does the item help create the desired home or is it a distraction? If you have found the answer, you can determine whether the item will be stored or disposed of.

If you are going to store it, you can use a cabinet or storage cupboard in the warehouse. Then, items that will be stored or used at a later time can be placed in the cabinet.

5. Choose meaningful items for home decoration

We certainly want to create a residence that suits our individual tastes and character. Therefore, we always try to buy a lot of goods in order to meet those needs. However, if you really want to adopt a minimalist lifestyle, you have to be able to limit yourself.

Choose decorative items that are meaningful and function to support all activities in the house. Also, avoid buying decorating supplies just to make the house aesthetic. If you've already seen it, think carefully before buying. Do you need these items or just a mere desire? This applies to all goods, yes. Starting from groceries, clothing, make up, accessories, to household items that make the house cramped.
