THIS ITEM CANNOT BE STORED IN THE BATHROOM

26 November 2023

Having a small bathroom does have its challenges. For example, limited storage space. That way, you may find it difficult to store a number of items and make the bathroom messy.

In fact, not all items have to be stored in the bathroom. Apart from being messy, storing items that are not supposed to be placed in the bathroom actually limits the space for movement. In fact, some items may be damaged by being splashed with water or exposed to humid air in the bathroom.

So, what items should not be stored in the bathroom? Here's the explanation!

1. Jewelry

It might seem reasonable if you want to keep all your jewelry in the bathroom. Of course, this will make it easier to access it when GB friends are getting ready.

However, according to professional organizer from The Organizing Blonde, Megan Tevlin, jewelry should not be stored in the bathroom because it has high levels of humidity. As a result, jewelry will be susceptible to discoloration and tarnish.

"Jewelry should not be stored in the bathroom because the humidity from the bathroom can cause stains and discoloration," said Megan, citing The Spruce.

2. Electronic equipment

Some of you may have placed electronic equipment in the bathroom, such as a humidifier, vacuum cleaner, or carpet cleaning tool. In fact, these items should not be stored in the bathroom because they are vulnerable to damage if exposed to splashes of water. It's best to store these items in a storage cupboard outside the bathroom.

3. Medicines and supplements

Medicines and supplements are also items that should not be stored in the bathroom. It is best to store these two items in the kitchen, dining table or bedroom. If possible, create a special cupboard to store supplements, vitamins, protein powder, and all health-related ingredients.

Medicines and supplements must also be stored in a storage cupboard with low humidity and a relatively constant temperature to maintain their contents.

4. Razor

The next item that should not be kept in the bathroom is a razor or tweezers. These two items should be stored in an open space to avoid rust. The smaller the bathroom, the more steam it forms making it prone to rusting more quickly.

5. Clothing

Last is the clothes. There are some people who put dirty clothes in the bathroom. In fact, humid air can cause clothes to become moldy, especially when stored in a wet state. Ideally, place dirty clothes outside the bathroom or in the ablution area.
