TIPS TO SAVE WATER AT HOME

21 August 2023

Water is a necessity for all living things. Even though water stocks continue to be abundant, it doesn't mean we can use it as we please. In the dry season for example. Well water may shrink or dry up so that the supply will decrease. Therefore, we are encouraged to use enough water.

There are several ways to save water. One of them is choosing adequate sanitary equipment. Come on, see the explanation below.

1. Turn off the water tap if not in use

The simplest way to save water is to turn off the water tap when not in use. For example, when brushing teeth and washing dishes. Sometimes we forget that while doing this the water faucet is still running. If the water tap is turned off while brushing your teeth or washing dishes, you can save three to four gallons per liver! So, don't let the water flow continuously, okay?

2. Wise in using it

If there aren't too many dirty clothes, it's better to postpone washing clothes to save water. When using a washing machine, use the washing machine according to its capacity. Because, every time the washing machine is used, the use of water will be more than usual.

3. Store rainwater

This spare water is very useful for saving water. One of them can be used to water plants. Use a rain barrel to collect water from the drain pipe on the roof of the house.

4. Make sure there are no leaking pipes

Water bills are usually not much different each month. If there is a significant increase, there could be a pipe leak, causing more water to be wasted. Therefore, routinely check and make sure there are no leaking pipes.

If the installation is outside the wall, then it is easier to check for leaks. Conversely, if the pipe installation is inside the wall, we need to pay attention to the pipeline areas if moisture occurs due to water seepage on the wall. Usually marked by the appearance of mold or mildew on the surface.

5. Use a faucet that has a water-saving feature

Current technological developments make it easier for us to use water more wisely. One of them is the sensor faucet innovation. As the name implies, this faucet only releases water when our palms are placed in front of the faucet sensor, and the flow of water will stop automatically when finished using it. That way, the water used is not too much or enough.

In addition, bathing using a shower or shower is an effective step to save water at home. Although it depends on its use, a shower is considered better than using a bath or tub because it is only used when rinsing is done. We can also adjust the speed of the flow of water that comes out.
